This week marks an important milestone as we begin to open up the new building, starting with the west side of the new build. This is a huge step forward in our vision for enhancing the learning environment, and we are all very excited to see the spaces come to life.
This week’s focus is moving-in staff, as they settle into these new spaces, ready to deliver the best possible education for your children. From next week onwards, the current Learning Centre will no longer be accessible to staff or students as we begin the process of removing it during the half-term break. Once the Learning Centre is removed, the area will be protected and undergo some recovery work. We will be seeking student ideas and input on what this space could be used for in the future.
Looking ahead, we are hoping to have the following spaces open for student use after the half-term break:
We are eager to see our students begin to benefit from these wonderful new spaces, and as we continue to gain access to more areas of the building, we plan to open additional parts of the school throughout the remainder of this half-term. Our approach is an intentionally staggered move over the term ahead to ensure a smooth transition for all.
Students have had a full briefing today during tutor time and we will continue to update them as we go. We have ensured that Examination year Groups are not impacted. Any individual students who have been regular users of the learning centre have had conversations with staff so they know which space they can use in the transition. Our ultimate aim is to have all the new spaces fully open and ready for use by September, ensuring an even more exciting start to the next academic year with the new facilities in full operation.
Thank you for your continued support as we take this exciting step towards creating an even better school for our students.
