The Charter School

East Dulwich

Our school campus

Our School

The Charter School East Dulwich is housed in a new, multi-million pound campus designed by FCB Studios, one of the country's best-respected and most experienced architectural practices working in education.

The School campus occupies most of the site on East Dulwich Grove formerly belonging to the East Dulwich Community Hospital. Construction of the campus is spread over two phases in order to allow essential medical services to relocate from the remaining hospital facilities into the new health centre developed on the same site.

Phase 1 of school construction began in July 2017 and was completed in December 2018. During this time, our growing school was based on Southampton Way in Peckham. In January 2019, all our students moved into the completed buildings, with their main entrance on Jarvis Road.

Completed facilities include the vast majority of teaching spaces, incorporating over 80% of our classroom space and specialist facilities for the study of subjects such as science, design technology and art and design, plus all of our indoor sports facilities and catering. We have also temporarily repurposed generalist teaching spaces to support the delivery of drama and music. These subjects will receive their own, purpose-built facilities in Phase 2. We are making use of nearby outdoor sporting facilities until our onsite games facilities are delivered as part of Phase 2.
