Establishing a new school is very different from working in a mature one. Applicants to The Charter School East Dulwich must be founders rather than followers. 

Teachers must be able to think creatively, show initiative, and be flexible in their approach and ideas. As the school evolves and the challenges change, teachers must adapt their and the school's procedures and processes to meet the challenges of increasing size and complexity as well as a changing environment–not least in the move from temporary to permanent accommodation.

The Charter Schools Educational Trust is a co-educational 11-18 Trust serving the vibrant communities in North and East Dulwich it delivers the highest quality education to young people in its immediate diverse community. At present the Trust comprises of two schools, The Charter School North Dulwich, opened in 2000, and The Charter School East Dulwich which opened in 2016. The schools are both oversubscribed and highly successful.

With immediate effect we are looking for a Head of Governance Services

  • Hours: 25 hours a week, 40 weeks a year
  • Hay 8 (point 28-35)
  • Actual Salary £17,407-£20,966

The successful candidate will have recent administration experience and be a good communicator and outstanding organiser. You will need to be flexible and demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, students, parents and other professionals. The highest level of professionalism and confidentiality is essential.

As well as supporting the Chair of the Trust and the Local Governing Body Chairs with all governance and compliance matters the successful candidate will act as Data Protection Officer for the Trust and give advice and guidance in regard to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and will also fulfil the role of Company Secretary.

Flexibility to be present at meetings in the evening is essential.
