Welcome to The Charter Schools Educational Trust.
The Charter Schools Educational Trust is a new and growing multi-academy trust based in South East London. Multi-academy trusts are a type of charitable enterprise responsible for running state-funded schools in England. Around three quarters of English secondary schools are run by academy trusts.
The Charter Schools Educational Trust is currently mandated by the Secretary of State for Education to run two secondary schools: The Charter School East Dulwich and its sibling The Charter School North Dulwich. The trust is run by a board of trustees consisting of the chair of governors and head teacher of each of the two schools along with six independent trustees.
The Trust Board sets the strategic direction for schools under its supervision and is ultimately responsible for their overall performance. Each school also has a local governing body which is more actively involved in oversight of how the school runs day-to-day. The trust remains committed to local and parental representation on the governing bodies of its schools.
Everyone involved in the Trust has a firm belief that all our young people have the potential to achieve in school and succeed in life. As well as family orientated we are community orientated and wish to work in harmony with all stakeholders.
